Thank you all for taking the time to look, and I agree, paper masks are not good for sanding wood. I need to dig my proper respirator out. I do use it normally, so please take note that if you do any of this type of work, it can be very harmful. Cheers again all

So after getting two singing performances out of the way and several weeks practising for them, I am back slowly and even more slowly, but I am on with the sides, and believe me, I am finding them hard, not sure if it is my mood but all this week everything I have done concerning music and guitars has had me feeling a bit off. Does anybody else get these feelings? Maybe I should ask in another post. However, here are some new photos I will, I hope, cheer myself up
Yes, “American” walnut is black walnut. It’s beautiful wood and the tree is chemically very interesting. The fleshy parts around the nut have a citrusy aroma when they’re fresh (that part rots off pretty fast once the nuts fall off the tree). And the tree produces chemicals called “juglans” that it secretes into the soil to inhibit the growth of other plants.
I think maple and walnut go together like peanut butter and jelly. My electric guitar is mostly maple but I’m adding walnut accents. My control knobs will be walnut with turquoise and epoxy resin tops and I’ll also be making the control cavity cover out of walnut.
I’m excited to see how this guitar is coming together. I was not ambitious enough to do the neck on mine or attempt doing inlay work yet. So I outsourced the necks (also an electric ukulele) and instead of inlay on the headstocks I’m going to have some laser engraving done. Nor have I been ambitious enough to do an acoustic.

@nikohmr So yes, it’s my first time bending, but I do follow advice from a book I am using, so yes, lots of water, I’m afraid a little bit messy and a danger, again from a hot iron and hot steam, so again a lot of safety features to be aware of, the book sujested I do the other side first without the cut out, until I got used to it but I just thought nope lets go for it cheers HEC

@Richard_close2u Hi Richard yes I know mate and I am trying I have literally just joined a band, and its wow im not sure about it Richard, this isn’t the place to talk about it I need to see were I can post it but its a bit over whelming so my build doesn’t get as much attention as it should be, but yes I need to finish it but not hurry it cheers HEC

I just can’t believe today I was in my garage, about to start another bend on my guitar, but winter is here, and my wife always puts the log burner on in the garage, because it is cold and damp, so the washing gets dried in there too, and as I watched her placing the fire guard around the fire, Bang it hit me flat in the face I didnt even turn my heating iron on woooo hoooo free heat and a perfect curve check this out
