Nice. Hopefully theyāll be able to sort something out.
Youād just need a mixer and a pair of studio monitorsā¦all done. A mixer is going to cost you between Ā£150-Ā£300 depending on what you want. A pair of studio monitors about Ā£200.
and an AI interface
ā¦ still around 500 smackeroonies
(Not to mention the missus when sheās next working on the pc looking at a bunch of new machinery, speakers, cables etc. )
Iām thoroughly enjoying reading this thread and following how everyone is spending your money Brian . A cunning plan indeed. Iām more of a visual person. Iād love to see a diagram that shows how all the bits/options connect to each other.
Nice setup Toby. That is maybe why you have issues from time to time.
Toby !!! Youāre a sadist for f-a-c ing with Gordonās mind like that
Gooood night and see you tomorrow
Think about a rats nest!
Simples!
Gordon
Iāll try and knock up a diagram tomorrow to show you how the plumbing works from my perspective.
Trust the Scot to see through the smoke and mirrors
I see Stefan make a tasty offer on a nearly new amp.
I devise an excuse to buy it, knowing I can sell it on without loss if it doesnāt really suit my needs.
My diagram is still simple:
Guitar > Pod Go > Trio+ (optional) > Katana
Itās a good job this isnāt a discussion of modular synths
Cheers,
Keith
I would get an amp (or more) that can move some air, a DAW and computer (Mac) that doesnāt have latency problems, an AI that can handle at least two lines at once, a good set of flat response headphones, and a couple of decent mics. I also recommend getting a plugin mic for a cellphone for super fast/easy recording sessions. I also prefer setting up a pedal board for various situations with a handful of pedals, instead of multi-fx rigs. Great gear can be had these days for cheap.
There is no optimal tone, there are a bunch of cool tones that can be used in a multitude of ways.
Briaaannnā¦

This is the cosmos gas nebula coming towards you
@roger_holland First of all, apologies for misinterpreting your initial image-
I somehow mistook your GAS-nebula for the light surrounding and being sucked into a Black Hole Sometimes itās hard to tell the difference
I think you are wrong about @CT. Much wisdom can be harvested in the garden of Clint, as long as youāre careful to avoid the odd patch of nettles
Some of this is repeated creed but thereās also strange new fruit, some quite low-hanging
- I will be moving air with my new amp
- I have a DAW
- As long as I can listen to what Iām playing in real time, I can live with recording latency (for the time being)
- Flat response headphones is a great shout instead of having to buy studio monitors, as is
- A plugin mic for phone. I shall be googling those.
Pedals vs multi-fxā¦ Well, if I had a wealth of experience (or just wealth), I might go down the boutique path, but I have chosen the less scenic interstate over the picturesque backroads and am enjoying the ride so far
Appreciate the free cents Mr. T
A black hole into which you are sucked in (which is at the core of all galaxies?) at least many galaxies is also what GAS is (do)
Put on your reading glasses ā¦ again out of the bottom drawerā¦ ListentoClint is there just a little bit more often in that line
My cataracts are cured but sometimes in only takes a couple of your words to make my eyes glaze and skip to the end
Have a nice weekend, my weird friend
Oooo how wrongā¦ havenāt I taught you yet that the Devil is in the details
You too
No the Mixer includes a USB interfaceā¦you donāt need a separate one.
