I’ve enjoyed all the recordings - good job everyone. Thanks for setting it up @grumpymac Deborah.

I did an original. It’s called “Summer in Clacton”. You can find it here:

I hope you enjoy it.

I have been absent from the forum , OMs and guitar in general for a few months. Some good family stuff going on but also some aches and pains of the aging process. I saw @GrumpyMac Deborah’s post on Saturday and thought what a perfect way to get back on guitar. So yesterday I had a think about a song which I could learn quickly and get recorded. Since it is sunny and I have been doing some retrospective tax stuff ( always great fun) , I felt this song was a good choice. Sorry its a bit rough but I did have great fun doing it.All the songs have been great, fantastic idea for the summer. btw, loved the Chris Rea song from Deborah. I was learning his Road to Hell song before my hiatus and Deborah has also inspired me to get back on thisSummer AVOYP

It doesn’t sound “rough” to me. I enjoyed that @eric.lennon.

@simon_plays_bass Glad you liked it. I say a bit rough as I could hear some mistakes and wind noise, it was my recording first take and I was happy I got through the song, I thought about doing another take but you probably know that can become a “rabbit hole” of take after take and I just wanted to finish while I was enjoying playing. :slightly_smiling_face:

Great job, Simon @simon_plays_bass  That was really enjoyable
Well-written and performed - especially for all done in 36 hours!
I’ll have to do the searches to really get the lyrics though, I think.

I enjoyed your performance too, Eric @eric.lennon
It didn’t sound rough to me either. And what a great location!
Beautiful place for playing some guitar - and a cute dog

The song is Sapore di mare, an old italian classic, which I had posted already a few months ago; it’s in 12/8 and it was easier for me to arrange it with a 123 123 123 123 rhythm…now I re-worked it out into a 123456 123456 kind of flow, which is more faithful to the original recording.

Many thanks to Rogier @roger_holland who encouraged me to improve it in that topic and many thanks to Deborah for this wonderful thread which inspired me to make this video (loads of fun in doing it!)
