BBC Introducing AI

That’s not quite what I’m saying (or at least not quite what I meant). If you are open about it being AI then it’s not cheating - it’s just using the tools. Whether someone likes and wants to listen to the result is entirely their business - many people don’t like my music choices already

Verring wildly off topic, but here I disagree (although I believe your medical training is significantly greater than mine if memory serves so I am genuinely happy to be correted!) - It’s my understanding that many PE drugs are harmful - anabolic steroids being the classic example. If althletes were ‘obliged’ to take these to compete at the highest level this would be bad news imo.

Well now we’re starting to sound like a cluster of old men huddling around an oil drum fire, passing around a bottle of cheap port.
“Hey ChatGPT, when did things all go astray?”

I thought the category started because someone didn’t like the madman’s artwork :winking_face_with_tongue:

Exactly, if you enjoy writing then you keep on writing no matter how good is your writing. To me I enjoy the writing process and the little rush you get when you’re stuck on some lyrics and after a few days or weeks parked to the side a flash of inspiration hits you.

I’m sure a few folk have pulled out a thesaurus to see what rhymes and had a flash of inspiration.

The AI thing does raise interesting questions for me:

The current AI efforts all sound a bit “generic”, but

(1) will they improve to the point where they can generate a song which sends shivers down my spine?

(2) if I’m aware that a song is generated by an AI, will that knowledge alone prevent it from having the emotional impact required to send shivers down my spine?
