For me, this is the charming non conventional unique style that draws me in and hooks me. Breaking the rules of timing, rhythm, expectancy keeps my attention on the song and always wanting to focus on what’s coming next.

I’m weird though

yeah, that’s why I forgot to add the nuance in my initial poste… it’s taste.
also, it is part of Brians style and in other songs, it worked better for me.
plus, it doesn’t break the story and from a different perspective, it adds that specific layer to it.
So I’m in no position to judge the quality based on my taste
