Blackbird - Beatles

Cool.
You’ve inspired me to learn this song more proper I think.
And oh man, 2 days I’ve been at it to no particular avail.
My kudos to you again for doing this song.
I find it pretty hard to learn.
We’ll see if I can stay with it. I hope to, but I doubt I’ll be posting anything I do up any time soon.
I need much, much practice it seems.

Great job on your version again. It’s even more impressive after trying to learn what you’ve already got down.
And to top it off, you’re standing and singing at the same time, from memory it appears too.

You’ve got my attention.

Great job mate! I’ve been working on this about 18 months myself just barely wondering if I’m ready to record it live. You’ve inspired me! And great job doing the “Paul McCartney 2-finger” - style playing. It’s definitely tricky to get going but you’ve got it!

I know the feeling.
Thank you for listening and kind words, much appreciated.
Good luck with the final push to get your Blackbird to a point you’re happy with. I can see from some of your other AVOYP’s you have the bar set high, so will look forward to hearing when you are ready.
Best wishes, Alan

Wow, another really great cover of Blackbird. I enjoyed listening from beginning to end, great share, Susan

Hi,
To my ears I heard good clean and clear picked notes. Not easy and something that would take me a long time to pull off.

Good job,

Thank you, Susan @SusanW and LBro @LBro for listening and leaving some feedback/comments very much appreciated. Made my first day back to work in the gloomy weather much more pleasant. Have a great day🙂

That was really nice Alan. Some tasty bits in there and it’s a very complicated, in my opinion. I’m sure it will get smoother and smoother the more you play it but it should be one you get out and play for people when they come round.

Not sure what your daughters beef is with your playing. Teenagers!

Nice one Alan. This is a challenging bit, you got the fingerpicking, got the “signature” slide, the nice “pause bit up 12th fret” and sang in parallel. The more often you play the more you get to that steady beat (which I also find hard with this -I think sometimes you are too focus on the fingers and moves). Excellent in getting all the parts of the song in memory as well!

Great - keep going!

Thanks Andreas, for listening and feedback much appreciated. There is quite a lot of moving up and down the neck with the fretting hand and I’m not as confident or capable with playing like this and not looking what’s going on. Just needs a bit more repetition, but I might try to include this as I practice. Best wishes Alan
