Thank you @Elixir1253 and @LBro for watching and leaving a comment! KK’s recorded version is indeed also fingerpicked, but I only found that out very recently. There are so many versions out on youtube of him playing live, often partnering with other country singers, always strummed, I always assumed that’s what he did on the recording, but no!
Molly, what a great watch, listen and read. I really like your version of this song and the sound of your voice and guitar playing.
After the modulation your voice thinned out a bit in spots, but that didn’t take away from the enjoyment of listening to your performance. Well done.
Thanks so much for this recording and explanation, Molly. I love Gordon Lightfoot and had no idea that he did this song. I’ll be adding this to my “need to learn” list. Great work!
Bit late to this one Molly but that was a wonderful cover. I love it when these old timeless songs get resurrected. Think this came out about 66 when I was 10 and just tooning into the old valve radios. Sweetly sung and exquisitely picked. Nicely done.
Nice job Molly. Very nice fingerpicking.
Late to this one as well. This was super cool rendition of a timeless classic! Thank you for sharing!
Oh thank you so much Mike @MiJoy and @glpguitar !
And the only one who is late here is me thanking Dave @oldhead49 , Jay @think2100
and Toby for the kind and encouraging comments you have left now almost three weeks ago. Shame on me. Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to write a comment, it means a lot to me and it is very motivating!
And @TheMadman_tobyjenner I have a similar memory to share, at a similar age, just a decade later. I used to have a radio-alarm clock which I turned on after my parents sent me to bed in the evenings. On the quietest setting with one ear to speaker the other listening out for my parents approaching. Later in the evening (after my bed time) was when the coolest radio shows came on air. I remember that’s where I first listened to The Wall when it came out, which left quite an impression, probably for more than one reason
Wow, great job. The difficulty level is just at the point where you can do it, but still have some things to work on, like the small timing issues and getting the singing / fingerpicking coordination down pat, so I think it’s a wonderful thing for you to work on, and a delightful listen as well. Cheers!
Oh, this is very good. Great singing voice and clear sounds on the guitar. Well done! Hopefully I just get more inspiration from this and not that “I can never do that myself”.
But yeah, back to practising tomorrow.
That was awesome! Good job! Those three months paid off!!
@MollyT nice job. Great sounding fingerpicking pattern.
As far as mobility on the middle finger I get a lot practice while driving….kidding.
Nice job!
Just great! What else is there to say… Wait, OK, I love it how your voice mixes with the sound of your acoustic. You’re a truly talented person, most sincere congrats, Molly.
Regards,
Tomasz
