Aah Rogier. A boom bass to be happy with. Bravo on the fine feeling you bring to that. Smooth and groovy playing.
I like the mood lighting too, and the way the sun is forcing its brightness through the houseplant behind you.
That I now (already) find you here … what a shame because when I read your comment in your blues thread I made a nice smartass comment in my head about how you were looking out when I started recording my blues thing etc …
Because to be honest, I was also amazed/shocked that it went so quickly (probably a lucky shot, although I know that learning things is going faster and faster, but still)
Thank you for your kind words and it’s nice that it felt relaxed because that’s how it was … Ooo yes, I quite like that season, but we don’t do much about it in the Netherlands … A tradition that originated in Ireland … big made in America … and that’s why most here spit on it I think, but the two of us here actually like it better than Christmas (which also comes from America in this way so some of my fellow countrymen are a bit hypocritical) …my wife suffered for a while when there was snow (phew, that was a while ago) and was doing crafts with a nephew… well, not the nephew who played quickly further away with snow all the time, but she was having fun
Ooo, I’m digressing but I’m going to look for proof that we actually like it
Thank you very much
and nice that you notice it, really a huge difference without the lights (also in the hall), the first shot was rudely disturbed by the beeping dishwasher, there were no lights and no trace of the sun… really boring image…
My eyes even become slightly moist from laughing …
Thank you
That was great Rogier! Well done
Great sound, and love that guitar too!
You did look relaxed and like you were really enjoying yourself
Happy Halloween
That’s funny Rogier, cuz I think I’m bugging myself to look up into the camera! And then the total stretch of course would be for me to actually smile
I tried to listen to a few posts the last couple of days but nothing would play for me. This morning yours played finally, so I’m happy I finally got to listen to it. Very nicely played, and bluesy. I’ve been playing this one at ~ 80% because once I get any faster it stops sounding bluesy (even taking into account the mucked up notes from trying to play faster). So thanks for posting your take.
Hi Jasmine @Avalon426
Thank you very much …relaxed en joying I read a lot here and that is/was(?) very often not … well the fun yes but relaxed during video not so much so nice that it also comes across …
Hi Mari @Mari63
Good to see you and that you can see me …don`t start on computer stuff
Yes that is funny … so often when I try to look away and than think of the (nice) comment you say to people to find a moment to look to “us” …and it IS helping me a lot…
Thank you very much for the good vibes and
so recognizable when it goes too fast the blues feeling goes away … too slow is almost impossible, I play it much slower today … playing too fast with 1 hesitation or 5 …kills the blues feel…
As I type this I don’t think I’ve ever played a song again the next day after an AVOYP (sometimes not for months)
Hi Mathieu @math07
Thank you very much and hey, I don’t learn it as much as an extra, I see it as one and the same, whether I practice this or Sweethome…Sssst
Hi John @Guitarman63
Thank you and just practice today or this week 1 barr …add 1 and repeat every day or every week… that probably won’t last 2 years
Hi Jason,
Thank you for your comment, very nice … and to clarify
a bit because I indeed didn’t make it completely clearer later in my comments …
this time I felt familiar and at ease … ven though I often had to keep practice looking at the camera for a few hours some days (with practicing without a camera, I look outside to the birds or at the computer and imagine that someone or a few of you are looking at me, so now it’s quite often Mari speaking to me in my head ) …
there are also videos where it seems like I’m 100 % under control because I look into the camera and then it’s just not quite there …and that is “the Justin trick”
Whoa Roger,
That was a nice spin and listen to some very tasty blues mate! I loved the tone you got, so fitting to what you covered in this one. You performed some nice nuances that sounded very enticing. I hope you do more and do at least keep up the good work!
Hi LBro,
Thank you very much for listening ,and that are nice words ,
There are certainly more in the planning, but I never know when I will be tempted to practice things properly all the way to the end before I start a new thing… at least I don’t have to worry and put so much time in with put together such an amazing video like you do
A little late to the party, but glad I didn’t miss this sweet little blues treat, Rogier!
It sounded really good, great tone (and what a beautiful guitar ), I really enjoyed the listen and was a little sad it’s only that short. Could have lasted a little longer for me.
Also, I’m happy for you that you got this so fast. It’s great to see that BLIM and all the efforts are paying off nicely.
Hopefully, you don’t wait too long before you share the next recording with us, though!
