Bought myself a Vox AC15

Hank reportedly had the first stratocaster in the UK, bought for him by Cliff Richard. It became so iconic that when Fender began selling guitars through UK dealers many of the dealers refinished new guitars in Fiesta red as that was the colour everyone wanted.

Hi Emerson, if you haven’t seen this before I thought you might enjoy seeing Mark Knopfler and Hank Marvin playing together.
Right, I’ll now stop hijacking your topic!!!

I may not have direct product comparisons for much guitar gear, but I can certainly compare a Fender Champion 40 to a Fender Blues Jr. My oh my how different they are. The Champion was, dare I say, kinda flat and uninspiring. It sounded “okay”, but I could never quite get it where I wanted. The Blues Jr. has tons of depth to it and it’s so much more responsive to how hard I dig into the strings. I haven’t pushed mine the way you have - maybe I should give it a shot (with earplugs), but even at the levels I use mine at, it sounds really good.

I’ve no doubt that the Vox you got is amazing. It was one I was definitely considering.

I felt the same about the Champion and the Princeton. I keep forgetting the Blues Jr is a Fender as it still retains that vintage tone, it and the AC15 were the final 2 amps I was looking at. I think what sold me on the Vox instead was the chime it has and i felt that I could get the Vox to break up quicker.

I wonder if a Blues Jr would pair well with a AC15 running duel. hmmm… might have to find one for cheap to test. LOL
