Hi Pamela, this was very inspiring on several levels. Playing, singing and all the production was great. I am now inspired to try and do more myself on AVOYP. Thanks for sharing and keep going. Eric
Hi Pamela, Great job nice production a lot of effort and care gone into this thank you for sharing lovely song.

Hello Pamela
The video is wonderful. And kudos to the efforts that you’ve put into the production. I feel motivated.
I loved the song and the way you performed it. Thank you for introducing us to this beautiful song.
I’m curious how did you find this song? (I’m asking because I say that it isn’t very popular)
@CATMAN62 Thanks Tod! I’m so glad you liked my little “ gift” to you.
@Silvia80 Silvia, another lady with the sweetest sounding words to describe my voice. Thank you! Those words certainly describe your vocals also. Looking forward to your next one. Thank you also for your comments on guitar layers and experimental fingerpicking patterns. I truly appreciate it!
@eric.lennon Oh, Thank you so much, Eric! I’m so happy you enjoyed it and was inspired by it. I hope to see you on here soon!
@amandaw57 Hello Amanda. Thanks for taking the time to watch my video and I’m glad you enjoyed it. I truly appreciate it.
@kushmish Hello, Kushagra. Thank you and I’m happy to have inspired you. Such a nice compliment! Yes, I wasn’t familiar with the song or artist either. It is in Justin’s Acoustic Songbook. He doesn’t have the lesson on video, but I was able to learn it from his written lesson in the book.
Hi Pamela, This is probably the best I’ve heard you perform, the vocals were amazing!
Mike
fwiw, I got a focusrite AI, I can plug my electric direct into the AI (assuming you may be able to do the same).
Or, I would think your Katana would have a line out jack on it (I don’t know that for a fact though, I don’t have a katana). I’ve got two amps with that output jack. I’ve been able to plug my amp into my AI via that line out. Personally, I didn’t dig what it did to my tone doing it that way. So I’ve gone to live mic for my amps. I feel I get the best representation of how my guitar sounds doing it this way. I also like to record a amp that I got that has no line out. I have no choice but to live mic that amp. It’s old school, but it works good. Like I said, I liked the sound of your amp. Live mic worked good for you too imho.
Well, I can for sure be hip to that idea. What few videos I’ve done, there near always is something about my lighting being mentioned. Always. As for your lighting, it was perfect really, I just wanted to look out your window… I play in a bay window so I always look out my window and I like the natural light. It’s just me.
imho, keep live micing your amp, it sounds good that way…
What a treat, Pam, wonderful production. Take a bow on every aspect. We have come so far since those early days of the first lessons of the previous incarnation of the Beginner Course.
Have to say I really loved the wistful breathiness of the higher pitched vocal parts. Really worked well for the song.
Massive amount of work to record all the audio and video and keep everything in order to sync up and produce the final video. You rocked that.
Bravo!!
Aw, Thanks David! You’re my buddy from way back when, LOL! I’m almost done with the Intermediate lesson’s in that “previous carnation”. One more Blues lesson, I think.
Thank you too on this. Chris Liepe helped me on this about how to improve an unsatisfactory tone on the high-pitch vocals. I only made it to the 6-wk point in the lessons, but still learned some cool stuff. I really need to complete it but lost interest.
Yeah, I did figure out that if I trimmed the video track, it would move and attach to the previous clip and would no longer be synced until I manually moved it back. But in the overlay clips, they would stay in place therefore stay in sync.
Anyway, within this whole process, I learned quite a bit. Now to retain everything I learned!
This was fantastic Pam! You should never feel lonely around here just so you know! I loved the pinched triads on your strat, made this extra dimension to the whole production. Well done!
Hey Pam,
I neither know the song nor the artist, (and you may not be surprised to hear me say it’s not something I would naturally be drawn to ) but I do love watching your progress.
You’ve certainly come a long way in your playing, your singing, but also in the whole audio-visual production department
This was ace.
You keep it up, gal!
@adi_mrok Adrian, Haha! You certainly picked up on the feel of the song. Yeah, it’s nice to finally get some practice in on the triads. I’m currently trying to learn them on all strings. Thanks for the listen and comments. Greatly appreciated.
@brianlarsen Hey Brian. Nice to hear from you - another buddy from way back when. Yeah, our tastes are quite different, but I guess on this forum we all enlighten & introduce one another to other types of music. I’m happy you see progress in this production. Thank you for stopping in and commenting. I appreciate the listen.
Well, Pam, it might have taken a while, but so glad you stuck it out. What an impressive performance and production. I’m sure you learned a bunch putting it together.
I have always loved the timbre of your vocals; so unique and recognizable and enjoyable to listen to. Everything sounded and looked great to me, and I hope we don’t have to wait quite so long for the next one.
Absolutely brilliant, Pam. A very polished performance and production. Well done.
@oldhead49 Hey Dave! Nice to hear from you - a fellow collaborator. Oh what a lovely compliment! I love that word “ timbre”. Thank you!
Yes, it does take me a while to get a following act out. But maybe I can get one going soon.
@socio Hey James! Hope you are doing well and you’re knocking out your BLIM studies.
Thank you for stopping in to listen. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Appreciate you.
Bit late to the party on this one but what a delight that was Pam.
Not a song that I knew but it was a wonderful performance. All the guitar parts were well played and the final mix had a real width to it. Vocals were super as usual and a good choice to go with CLA Vocal, so some great presets available in that package and easily tweaked. So the audio production was very slick and then supported it with a well constructed video.
So great job all round Pam, a pleasure to watch and listen.
That was so great in every aspect! Thank you!
@TheMadman_tobyjenner Hey, hey Toby! So glad you stopped by. I appreciate your nice comments on my production and performance. Happy you liked it. Yeah, I didn’t know the song or artist either, but it’s in Justin’s Acoustic Songbook. I go through them all one by one and practice each one of them at least a week (except some that I simply don’t like). This one I liked, so decided to tackle it. Yes, the CLA Vocals really help out. And the video was a challenging puzzle to put it all together. But will be easier next time.
@domi7 Hey Dominique! Thanks so much for the listen. So happy you stopped by, and thanks for the good vibes!
Hi Pam,
I didn’t know the song, but really enjoyed your performance. It was the whole package - vocals, playing and production - all came together perfectly. You should be proud of this - worth every minute you spent on it!
That was written for me: I totally look so miserable in my videos because I’m concentrating so hard
