Something I found recently, not in Metal mode for a change

And on the same day……

Enjoy!

Boyce Avenue have some really great covers Darrell thanks for share! First time I heard of them was while listening to I’ll be there for your cover by The Rembrandts, infamous Friends theme song  man what a cover!

Yeah, it’s just that collab I really liked - I couldn’t make my mind up between that one and this….

For me @DarrellW it has to be, Time after time, as I think it is a far superior song in general.

Some great covers there though.

Those three sound so good together.

These girls rock! Also, the entire Blacklist album concept and realisation was superb. Another reason why Metallica is the biggest band in the world. They know how to run the band on all fronts.

Haha, thanks for pointing this out Adi and thank you Tony for sharing! That was unexpected but hilarious :D!

The Radio 1 Live Lounge is a rich seam of covers: BBC iPlayer - Radio 1s Live Lounge

One stand-out is this one: Live Lounge Allstars - Times Like These (BBC Radio 1 Stay Home Live Lounge) - YouTube

TOOL’s Right In Two on acoustic guitar by Ernesto Schnack.

And I don’t mean he covers the guitar part of Right In Two, which would be impressive on its own, I mean he covers the whole song on one guitar, by himself. It’s totally bonkers. Make sure you stick around until the 4min mark. :exploding_head:

This freaky genius has done a bunch of TOOL covers and also some System of a Down, it’s all fantastic.

I really like this version of California Dreaming by Michael Chapdelaine

Well, I wouldn’t usually post anything by Ed Sheeran but this is rather exceptional; apart from that I much prefer her use of instruments and vocals, she’s more pleasant to look at…

That led me to find this:

And in turn, the YouTube channel of the ridiculously talented Kevin Olusola, and this gem:

Oh I love the combo of Joe Robinson vocal + guitar.
You can love pure fingerstyle but his playing AND his singing together is wildly inspiring
I frequent his live streams, although they are often at 01:00 am for me

Being both Aussie kids, I pitched Justin they should do some video’s together.
Though, Joe lives in the USA now (Montana I think)

I’m currently learning myself that resembles this version of “Crazy”; This version really cuts to the bone (imho)

That would be fantastic. Back in 2020 Joe did do a clinic in Sweden with Emil Ernebro. Maybe it’s time he came to the UK to do some stuff with Justin whilst promoting some of his music to this side of the world as not sure many folk in the UK will be familiar with him.

I love this re-imagining of Joy Division’s song by the amazingly talented Josh Turner and a friend. The Metheney-like accompaniment is really cool (I think!).
