Fingering tips for chord transition in "Yesterday"?

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away until I decided to look up Ultimate Guitar’s Pro rendition instead of Songsterr’s. Now it looks as though they’re here to stay as I prefer the latter’s rendition but I’m struggling with the above chord transition.

I’m currently playing this by barring the 2nd fret and then trying to finger the 2nd chord by pretending it’s a G or B7 chord (with the corresponding fingers on the correct strings). It’s such a finger twister though especially at the 5th and sixth string. Is this how I’m supposed to fret this chord?

Any tips on the transition would be greatly appreciated.

Eh I’d be playing the bass notes with my thumb over I think

Paul McCartney plays the first half of that bar as a thumb over F#m and then switches to a B7. As you don’t play strings 4 & 5 when you play the F#m you can just use index to barre then switch to the B7 for the second part of the bar.

Thanks for the replies yes it makes sense to play with the thumb!
