Fretboard Diagrams For Scales

I thought the same thing, this IS the F# shape on the 2nd fret or the Am shape starting on the 5th fret. If you are not saying what fret this represents you should just say this is a scale shape and not say it is Am, IMO. I don’t think it is illogical to assume this is starting on the 2nd fret and therefore F#.

The root note in Red is F#, but the scale is A minor. Why?
