Like you say, pickups make quite a difference. In my own build, I want to strive for versatility. Maybe a switchable single/-dual coil, or some electronics magic. I once read something from a very knowlegdeable person (some german guy who also sells guitar circuits) and it sounded like you could have all the sounds you wanted in one guitar, but I didn’t understand everything he said. And his circuits needed a battery, I’m not sure if I want that.
One day we’ll hear you play it at a JGC OM …
