Greetings from Stefan in Germany

Hello from a GuitarNewbie. Stefan here  Iam 36 years old and live in Germany.
Hopefully you can decrypt and read my English

Actually I’ve got 2 Guitars. 1 Acoustic and 1 Electric. But I can’t play any of them. That’s why I’m here
Would love to play some cool Rocksongs. Sky is the Limit
But after my first lessons I know its a tough goal. But a fun experience too.

I started practicing 4-5 Weeks ago every single day. The finger pain is gone

Dmin and C are my actual Topics. And in Music Theory Im in Grade 4. Things get harder there cause I dont know any of those Barre Grips

But no need to Rush. See you around in the Forums.

Best regards
Stefan

So welcome on my part too (if I’m allowed to say that with my rookie-status)! :joy:I think we’ve found a good place to keep this hobby up.

Willkommen an Bord, Stefan. You’ve come to the right place

You’re a month in and not playing barre chords yet?!? What a loser!
If you “have two guitars and can’t play any of them” you should probably look into getting another guitar. And some pedals. Lots of pedals…

Seriously though, if you’ve been playing for over a month, practicing every day, you are a bona fide guitar player. Your abilities will improve, but you will always remain conscious of how much you don’t know and need to do, so just sit back and enjoy the ride.
It’s all about the fun on the journey and the people you meet through music.
We’re all epic noobs here :sunglasses:

Welcome to the community, Stefan :slightly_smiling_face:

Keep working on Dmin and C and these chords will start to sound good soon. And with those chords under your belt and G being added soon, you will notice you’ll soon be able to play quite many rock songs already - in simplified versions surely - but that’s a good start :slightly_smiling_face:

Welcome Stefan! Yes, it seems you’ve found a good place to learn guitar. Dipping your toe into music theory early will serve you well too, I think. Others may have different advice (and you should listen to them!), but I’d say not to be in too much of a hurry to complete the theory course. I’m an early Grade 3 beginner, and got most of the way through theory grade 4.1 when I took a break. I’m enjoying applying the knowledge I now have to the work I’m physically doing on guitar. It’s been a few months though…you’ve inspired me to get back to it! Hope to see you around. Oh - and your English is just fine!

Herzlich Willkommen, Stefan!

Have loads of fun exploring and learning to play the guitar, it brings so much joy (especially after finger tips stop hurting).

Welcome Stefan,

You’ll have lots of support here. Be patient with your journey and don’t rush those early Modules, consolidating early learnings is important. Remember, it’s all about the journey not the destination :+1: :grinning:

Hi Stephan and welcome! I joined a month ago and the structure of the lessons, and the community is great. Im an oldie 63, but have come back to playing after a 30 year break and this place is amazing.

You play and practice regularly so that makes you a guitarist! Call yourself that, because, my friend no matter how short or long you have been playing for, you can call yourself that :grinning:

Hello Stefan & Welcome!!!

My advice to brand-new guitar players is to get yourself a stand so your guitar is always on display & easy to pick up when you only have a few minutes to spare. I love to play scales or practice chord changes while my coffee’s brewing in the mornings… that 5 minutes here + 10 minutes there really adds up! :+1:

The most important thing is to Keep It FUN!!! When you’re having lots of fun you play more which means you can improve faster too! Good luck!

Greetings from a Non-German!!!
