Dāoh. I misread your post. I just realised you sent the NUX back. You can still use the same approach though. Go through the amps one at a time removing all of the effects. If you canāt find one you like then it might be better to swap it out for another amp. Good luck.
Many thanks to everyone for the helpful advice, I think Iām going to go with a simple Fender Champion 2, no apps to worry about!
Hereās a simple, straightforward, inexpensive tube guitar amp.
If youāre in Europe, you can get one thru Thomann:
If you cannot order thru Thomann, here is the same amp, sold by the actual manufacturer:
Thatās a great-looking little amp!
Word of caution for anyone in the US, however, from the store page:
This item runs exclusively on an operating voltage of 230 V and therefore requires a voltage transformer to run in your country of United States .
Hi Simon, yep, that is exactly what you should do. Go to a guitar shop, bring your amp with you and have them help. Start simple with a clean tone, then bring up the gain in the reverb and really you donāt need to go beyond thatā¦ For the time being.
Oh, and donāt leave the guitar shop without buying somethingā¦at least by yourself three or four pair of guitar stringsā¦ Youāre gonna need them.
Just give the spark some more time?
Try a few of its amps , add in a compressor at the start and a reverb if the amp doesnt have it , pick a marshalish thing and a fenderish thing.
What exactly do you mean by ādecent soundā? what type of music are you playing?
Are you trying to replicate a certain player/band inparticular ?
Iāve never used a Spark, but Iād be surprised if itās unable to get some sort of okāish (at the very least!) playable clean/dirty tones for general practice. Even a basic clean tone with some reverb can cover a lot of ground!
Monoprice makes a 120V version of this amplifier as well. Ask me how I know LOL!
