Hi Michael, welcome. Good you got inspired to retake the guitar and used that inspiration to work from the basics. For sure your experience playing bass and playing live with a band should facilitate some things. For others it may be a new amazing world. Have fun.

Hey Michael! Welcome!
I have a similar story (and maybe the same guitar?) I was in Scotland a few months ago and was inspired by all the music I heard there to get back into the guitar. I love playing my Alvarez and I’m having so much fun learning and being bad at guitar.

Thanks Richard. Everyone’s been very welcoming. I’ve been enjoying working through Grade 1 and getting back into playing and discovering new music. I’m pleased I finally joined the community.

The five Michael’s could happen, two have played bass, two who singer, other good guitarists and a novice like me. But what genre, Motown comes to mind like the Four Tops.
