Hello from Erik in the Netherlands. I am picking up playing after 35 yrs

Hello, Erik here from Arnhem Nijmegen area in the Netherlands. When young I had lessons classical on a nylon string acoustic.

Surprised how much muslcle memory there was doing beginners grade1. Now making good progress in grade 2. Just enjoying to learn the skills, forget the world when playing and practising.

Using a Fender Strat (SSS) and an acoustic Fender F-15.

It’s awesome to see, what our muscles and unconcious seem to remember, right?
Wish you lots of fun on your re-entered guitar journey!

Hello Erik and welcome to our community.

It’s amazing how much we soak up when we are younger and what we retain from that time.

Hi Erik, welcome. I think whatever that involved some structured practice and enough repetition in the past may come back relatively easy later in life. Still is good to go throughout all the lessons to find better ways to do it and connect in a more natural way with the new content you may find.

True. The lessons stay the guideline. Sometimes I divert a bit. But always come back to the stucture of the lessons.

Hello Erik.
Welcome to JustinGuitar and the Community. I’m arriving late to your hello party, If you need any help with a lesson specific question or with any general guitar learning question then do not hesitate to ask. There are many good folk here who will happily offer help and encouragement to those coming up behind them on Justin’s Beginner Courses. They embody and carry the pay-it-forward ethos we have nurtured for many years in our community. There are many old hands too who have years and (hopefully) a bit of wisdom they can bring as they give their support to those hitting the road blocks - which we all do.
Just ask if you need anything.
Cheers
