My name is Ray. I took guitar lessons when I was around 10 and don’t think it lasted a year. I found Justin’s lessons over 10 years ago. But now at 50 i downloaded the app, purchased the premium version and scheduled practice on my calendar! Wish me luck!
Hi Raimondo @deathraypa, welcome to the community! To me, putting practice time on one’s calendar is one of the best hacks there is. Good luck, and stay in touch with this supportive group of learners - that will bring you even more success than luck!
Hi Ray and welcome! You don’t need luck, but practice! So I wish you a lot of hours and hours of very enjoyable practice… and if some of those hours will be a bit challenging just slow down and enjoy your own pace!
Hi Ray, I’m a fellow American and I started at 10 yrs also. Unfortunately I didn’t stay with it, but I started back up about 25 years ago and I don’t miss a day without one in my hands. I’m mainly acoustic but I do hack around on a Jackson my son bought me. I started the internet learning method probably 15 yrs ago and Justin is above and beyond anyone else. Don’t get me wrong there are some pretty good teachers on the net but none like Justin and his team. Stay with it man, it’s so cathartic, good for the soul. Take care and keep strummin’ !!!
I’m in the Philly area too, older than you. A lot of good stuff these days on the Internet, but one of the problems I find is there is so much info that I tend to bounce around from one thing to another. The Justin site is more structured in steps which helps.
Hi Ray welcome , I am across the Delaware river in Trenton . I hope you enjoy Justin guitar,I know I do you will learn a lot if you follow his lessons .
Hello Ray.
Welcome to JustinGuitar and this fantastic community. Please take your time to look around and get to know the wider space. https://community.justinguitar.com/categories
We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.
Also, please make sure to read the community etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.
