I’ve been taking it seriously for about 2-3 years. Slow progress though 
I have spent more time recently just enjoying playing songs than pushing hard on techniques.

Yeah far out, I hope I can keep it up for that long too! I’ll be keen to get into more songs when I can change up chords a bit faster too

Welcome Simone. Plenty of Aussies here. I’m in the sunny coast (previously Brisbane).
31 is not too late. I started at 39, a couple of years ago… some people my age have been playing for 20 years, but it only makes sense to compare with yourself yesterday, not others! Keep at it and you’ll be surprised how you can progress.
