I was in the same boatā¦and sinking. I found Pro Tools First. Ableton Lite is also an option. Itās a free download allowing you to add multiple tracks, edit in/out and add effects. But you will probably want to buy an interface which converts analog to digital. LinkedIn Learning has several good tutorials to help navigate and better understand the software - the tutorial videos helped. May be worth exploring.

Thank you for the advice. Its a subject I realize that has different answers for everyone based on what their goals are and how they prefer to work.
