How To Play The D Chord

You should be able to take it with you on the plane with no problems. I can’t really tell you how things work because I’ve never had to fly with a guitar, but plenty of people on Reddit have: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guitar/comments/hzvytb/question_how_do_i_take_a_guitar_on_a_plane/

I spent a long time wondering why my chords didn’t sound like the ones in the video. It turns out my D chord position was shifted up slightly. My first finger was on the fourth string instead of the third. Once I put it in the right spot, the sound was much better. XD

idk if ur from America but the problem is im from the UK. The travel guidelines and baggage rules are much stricter so im not rlly sure what to do. A lot also depends on the airline ur on and im not entirely sure if my airline allows guitars (not guitars specifically but there’s different rules abt the size of ur instrument) but I will check.
Edit: I can take it but im prolly not gonna bc its gonna cost too much (it’ll be in checked in) and my family has additional luggage alr. Ty for all the suggestions tho xx

btw I have a question should I focus on chords or guitar tabs? I was scrolling and saw someone talking abt guitar tabs and looked into them and ive pretty much gotten down how to read them and stuff but idk whether I should focus on learning how to play them properly or js focus on chords for now?

Just follow the lessons. Justin will introduce you to tabs in a couple of modules. So for now, just go with chords.

You’ll be better of learning some basics first before diving into tabs. It will make it easier to understand what you are looking at.

Is it just me, or is D kind of a difficult chord? I’m at module 6 right now, am progressing decently well on the other open chords, but D major specifically is kind of a curse for me despite being the first one I learned. obviously I can play the chord fine on its own, but during a song I really struggle with changing to it cleanly. even C, which is supposed to be a hard one, I find easier to change to than D. just wondering if anyone else has this problem.

Yes! D is my nemesis too!

I understand that this will eventually become second nature with practice, but getting your fingers on the right strings without looking sounds like magic right now. lol

Okay, back to the D Chord.
