Hey there Rogier,
Thanks for the warm welcome, I truely appreciate it.
Somehow I already knew that the people that play music are warm and gentle souls, but still it blows me out of the water reading the comments here in this community.
Rock on Rogier, let’s keep in touch.

That is a long way from being a beginner song or a beginner technique. That’s quite an ambitious and challenging start.
I hosted a Vintage Club session on that if you want to check it out:

Thank you Richard!
It is indeed a bit challenging, especially after the intro section. With most songs that I strum along with, the switch from C to G chord is fast enough but not in the verse of this song.
In the first month of learning it, I stopped learning everything else. Currently I am playing the verse section 4-5 times per day and then move on to other songs again.
One day I should get it right, I won’t back down
Ah, that one… I’m looking at it right now…
Nope, didn’t get that far yet. A lot of guitars have happened since then and that Pacifica is a reminder of how hard it is to change something on a guitar. (at least, the first times).
It’s still in need of a new paint job, among other things, but i don’t have time. (And the weather isn’t helping either).
Maybe this year i’ll give it another go. Taking it apart again, sanding everything down, but this time, taking things more slowly. Especially in the paint department.
That’s where things went sideways. Also, spraypainting in a garden shack has it’s own set of challenges to start with.

Welcome, my fellow beginner! I can’t wait to hear what you find most useful in your private lessons vs justinguitar. I am starting my guitar journey with the JG lessons alone, but I suspect I may need to find some private lessons at some point in the future. Please share your insights as you progress!
Hey Patricia,
For me the best part about private lessons is the feedback I get on my playing.
For example, I used to strum pretty much all strings when I played a D-chord. He explained that I would annoy the heck out of a bass-player in a band with that since hitting the bass notes is his/her part of the job.
Another example: I can play barre-chords and make all the notes ring through but my wrist starts to hurt pretty soon. That could be a posture thing and I started noticing it when practicing power chords. Next lesson I will ask him to pay attention to my posture & form so I can get some tips and feedback on that.
In general it’s good to get some constructive feedback on my playing, especially from someone with stage experience. If something in particular comes up in that area that might be useful to you, I will let you know.
Welcome to the community Hans!
