I should have mentioned above - The one change I made to guitars that is very handy is to add locking tuners. They are somewhat expensive, but I really appreciate the ease I can change strings now. If you are feeling like improving a guitar you like, this is easy and useful.
I fought the winding on my Ibanez every time I changed strings. Coaxing the string to wind correctly was no fun and I often would have too much or too little for a good winding on the heavier strings. The locking tuner takes all that away and I get consistent winding each string change now - or is that lack of winding?
