Hello Prokash.

Welcome to JustinGuitar and this fantastic community. Please take your time to look around and get to know the wider space. View by Categories.

We are a supportive and encouraging group of students and guitarists from across the world. Essentially, we are all here for music and to improve as players. We truly are a ‘community’. Members help and support one another and a friendly, positive attitude underpins this. We hope that all - young or old, experienced or new players - adopt and foster the pay-it-forward ethos that Justin personifies and embedded all those years ago when he started the website and forum.

Also, please make sure to read the Community Etiquette announcement for some important information and guidance.

If you want to record yourself to show your progress and / or seek feedback there is our ever popular Community Recordings section.

Behind the scenes there is a small and dedicated team who work to make the JustinGuitar experience as good as it can be. Check out the Onboarding sessions provided by Fanny. Justin also has a small group of Approved Teachers he recommends for people wanting 1-to-1 lessons to supplement his courses.

That is plenty to be going on with. It is a vast community space so if you need help as you find your way around just ask.

Cheers. Richard

Hi Prokash,
Welcome here and I wish you a lot of fun reading here :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Learning to play music starts with listening to music, I keep my fingers crossed that you will soon have a guitar :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Hi Prakash, welcome to the community forum. At least you can memorize the chord shapes and practice strumming and counting rhythm in grade 1 without a guitar. I hope you are able to locate a guitar. Perhaps someone in your community has an older guitar that you could visit and try out playing. I also searched online and saw there were many music stores or shops in towns and cities along the Brahmaputra River. Perhaps you can travel to one of those towns occasionally and try out a guitar, even if you can’ t buy it.

Hi! Thank you for the warm welcome. I can play some basic chord and do simple chord switches—and some strum.I learned them back in high school. But since I haven’t played in a long time, I feel like a complete beginner again!

Hi Roger,
Thank you so much for the kind words! You’re absolutely right—listening to music is a great place to start. I’m really trying to get a guitar, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to yet. Still, I’m staying hopeful and can’t wait to start playing again when I get the chance. Appreciate the support!

Greetings,

Hii DeltaTyne,

Thank you so much for the warm welcome.
I’ve always dreamed of owning an acoustic guitar or a Stratocaster. During my high school years, I had the opportunity to play with a friend, which deepened my love for music. However, after leaving school, I no longer had access to an instrument.
Due to financial difficulties, I haven’t been able to purchase one yet, but I remain hopeful and continue to stay connected to music in any way I can.
I’m truly grateful to be part of this group and look forward to learning and sharing with everyone here.

Hello Prokash & Welcome!!!

I am hopeful that you are able to own a guitar soon & that you’re able to start learning to play! Since you are having financial difficulties, acoustic guitar may be a better choice. Electric guitars require amplification, cables & obviously, electricity! You can pick up an acoustic & immediately start to play - also take it along with you almost anywhere!

What is your favorite kind of music to listen to & what songs do you wish to play?

Good luck!!!

Dear Tod,

Thank you so much for your warm welcome and kind encouragement!

I truly appreciate your thoughtful advice regarding starting with an acoustic guitar—it makes a lot of sense, especially considering my current financial situation. Your words have given me both hope and motivation to pursue learning music, and I’m truly grateful for that.

As for music, I enjoy listening to a variety of genres, especially soft rock and folk. I would love to be able to play heartfelt songs that carry deep emotions and connect with people.

Thank you once again for your support and generosity of spirit. Wishing you all the best from my side of the world.

With warm regards,
Prokash

Hello Prakash, and welcome! Your passion and dedication — studying even without an instrument! — are inspiring. Thank you for sharing, and for joining us. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you with the Payin’ it Forward program!
