Jazz jam

So… I signed up for a jam, chose 5 tunes from the list, prepared as much as possible in a week…
And one tune turned out kinda Ok. I know my solo was underwhelming, but this is more or less my current level in playing single lines.

Lovely stuff Alexey. Holding your own really nicely in a room of pretty good musicians.

Very nice!

What is that piece? I recognize the intro, I’m sure I have it on one of my (few) jazz albums, but I can’t remember who it’s by.

Thank you for sharing! Nice ensemble, nice music!
And like the others said before, I think you did really well among the other musicians!

I don’t understand or ‘get’ jazz, but that doesn’t prevent me from admiring it :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
If you told me to pick out the ‘least impressive’ players, I would have plumbed for the drummer or bass player, simply because they didn’t take a solo
I thought your playing was lovely. Not show-off-y but fit in well with the piece.
Bravo!
I’m sure that person clapping after the tenor sax solo was the woman who gave him a swig of her beer and a kiss before he joined in
I’m afraid I can only send you virtual ones:
 :clinking_beer_mugs: :face_blowing_a_kiss:

Cheers, Brian
I think you mean the soprano sax player. And he is really the best one there. Maybe not in this particular tune.

Of course, just not thinking
No, I thought he was good, but you deserved some of what he was getting too
