Well after years of waiting I finally have my first real Gibson Les Paul. The story how I really fell in love with one was funny. My friend and coperformer Ciaran was doing a gig at an Irish bar last summer . He invited me and the family to see the show. I had just order some delicious fish and chips and about to devour it and he says come to the stage and help me with this sound check. Puts his Les Paul in my hands and says play a few chords. Feel good? Okay fill in for my break. So the Les Paul melted in my hand like butter. Here is a sample song I did there.
I asked the gods of rock and Ozzy told me to play his song first on mine. Not even a strap on yet and have t played this one in a while, but here she is:

Hi Jeff, and sincere congratulations. I know exactly how it feels since I purchased my first Les Paul in June last year. When I took it out from a really nice gig bag (included!), tuned it and started to play it was like a completely new and unexpected experience, something like when a dream comes true, and the ease of playing was fantastic.
I’ve been an LP fun for years and have played many clones of different brands, but the original (mine is a Studio model) blew me away.

Wow. Congratulations on yours too and I’m glad you can relate. I don’t think I would have felt better if I were “unboxing “ a Ferrari. I love the look and fell. You can really tell the quality difference vs. the cheap guitars. I only spent about 25 minutes playing so far because have to work. Didn’t even put the strap on it yet lol. Happy strumming

A few years ago my daughter bought me a Gibson ball cap - I wouldn’t wear it until a Gibson Les Paul Classic came home to the Catman!!! Now I wear that hat all the time!!!

This guitar has been on my dream list for years. My friend and co-performer has been suggesting I get rid of my learner guitars and go for a professional guitar because my skill set is improving. Also I was at a gig last summer and one of my cheapie fenders electronics wasn’t working well. Embarrassing lol. Finally… I am so excited! You earned the right to wear your Gibson hat. I’ll have to get a Gibson hat too so we can be twins. oh the model is studio… so the lower end of Gibson. I got $400 off because I bought the floor model, yet didn’t see a scratch on it.
Very cool, Jeff! You for sure have the “Right” to wear whatever Gibson gear you want now!
Just keep on making music… don’t worry too much about the level of your gear - as long as whatever you’re holding is bringing a smile to your face… it’s all good!!!
