Absolutely correct David, this is just for soundchecks in the run up to the show and using the record facility is all you really need, But I had forgotten the time lag for the approval as mine was set up so long ago.
Yes David this is the point i was trying to to get across. Just the youtube site if you want to do external. I am a stickler about things and wanted to set up mostly like a performer…but not performimg or any o that!! Lol
So yeah, exactly. Mostly an F.Y.I. if you want to go down that road.
Darren
I’ll add a note to the guide in respect of YT streaming approval, so it’s there for future StreamYard events. We did one trial back in May 2020 so I guess a lot of the small stuff like this has been forgotten, especially as we use Zoom for the Open Mics.
Appreciate you highlighting this all the same. See you Saturday !
Any more for the audience?
The list remains open until the day itself.
Well, i can call @tRONd ,…Hopefully you’re a little less busy and playing the guitar will fit into your life again ,… fancy a Christmas evening with the boss? …
Greetings,…
Mibby a silly question… do I need to download another App to view the next Open Mic on Saturday, or will it be an automatic link when I click on the link?
Ian
It will just be a link, as we will be using StreamYard which is browser based.
Can I have a seat in the Audience please UK GMT thanks Amanda
I’d like to be in the audience please!
Thanks Toby
can I still join as audience if it is not too late? It is a bit early in the morning for me, but I will join when I wake up.
Drake
You should be ok and @Richard_close2u will see this in the uk morning, and send you the link so check you messages in 4 or 5 hrs time.
Hi Toby, @TheMadman_tobyjenner (or anyone else who knows about this )
Can we now also see people from the audience as is the case with the open mics?
Roger
No there is no equivalent gallery view in StreamYard . You only get to see the host and each guest as he invites them on to the “stage”. It is just like watching a normal YouTube stream. That’s the reason we use Zoom for the OMs. But there is a chat facility like Zoom and that is how the audience communicated when we did the first trial back in May 2021.
Thanks for the quick response,
Oh, I think that’s quite a disappointment , I really enjoyed seeing some people, and such a chat function goes much too fast for me and distraction,(
What I had typed yesterday in the you-tube chat but I see that the chat has been all deleted ),…
And I had bought a chainof lights yesterday to hang around my neck, and a Christmas bauble necklace and this morning changed the table and more so that I can sit in front of the Christmas tree, (all really true ) … and suddenly I thought that maybe would be no camera … Aaaaaaaa
Could not agree more Roger but don’t forget this is completely separate from the JGC Open Mic events, which are run by the Community for the Community. I am sure members of the JG Team on the forum will consider your opinions for the future.
I totally agree, Rogier. I hoped to see some faces of the community too, as it’s such a nice crowd around here. But we have to take it as it is and see the positive aspect… We can remove our decoration in the background (spent the last 30 minutes finding an appropriate place in the house ) and wear a pyjama while enjoying the performances .
Don’t be so self-centered, guys-
This is not ab out you… This is all about ME!
I really endured the freezing cold yesterday and bought stuff especially for tonight and renovated/shifted everything in the kitchen/dining/guitarplay room …
And Brian,…
I don’t want to steal Justin’s thunder, but will just say that you should view this as a second trial of a different kind of live event, not ultimately intended to be the same as or a replacement for the Community Open Mic. I’ll leave it to Justin to say more this evening.
