While I’m not an electrician like Silvia’s @Silvia80 husband, when it comes to cables, cords, wires & rope/string - I have a “PROBLEM” - according to my wife that is!!!
I worked for Radio Shack for a few years, before getting into my ‘real’ job as an Air Traffic Controller, where a good portion of the job was winding up cables and cords. It got to the point where I would re-wind sloppy jobs done by others because I could not stand to see a messy bunch of wiring! So, while the guitar player part of me says “It’s fine… go play the guitar, girl!!!”, the Radio Shack part of me has to give your wiring two thumbs down… 
Cable Ties are cheap & make life so much better for OCD people like me!!!

It’s probably a good thing I don’t have many cords and cables 
I’ll make it a priority to be more mindful to the details this year! and maybe even get some cable ties.

My guitar and mic cables are just cut to the right length, thinner than the usual stuff (only for my desk recording, not stage usage 
) and my own choice of plugs soldered on. No untidyness here (but I don’t show you the rest of the room 
)

I gave this list to my wife, who is a real musician (violinist). I think I’ve heard all of those criticisms.
