One of the guys I jam with every week has this Eastman T486 at a reasonable price, hoping to try it out soon
Oh yes oh yes oh yes.
I hear only good about those.
If the ES body suits you.
Perfect for BLIM.

Oh yes, maybe you can try out this one for a bit of time - or another of one of your guitar friends to see if you can find one you like better than yours!?
And hopefully you can find an amp tone that rather pleases than annoys you!
I’ve just gotten the old scrap-o-caster out of storage along with my practice amp, been fun playing it again. Want to compare them side by side.
Great to hear that you had fun with it again! And probably you joined Justin’s “Blues Immersion - Class 4 Launch”? https://www.youtube.com/live/9UnhMYqX-oA?si=YSv0kCxjmelfmdyc
While I wanted to revisit BLIM with some mates without all the excitement in the coming weeks and months, now watching Justin talking about BLIM made me want to re-enter the class - somehow it’s something really special being in there with all the other students and life events and and and…
Big news Dominique :o I did not know you were planning to join class 4 ![]()

no, I wasn’t planning it, not now, but watching Justin playing and talking about BLIM reminded me of how great it was so he got me thinking about re-entering.
Ah Dominique … do I need to prep something bluesy for you?? !! ![]()
Meet “Archie”. Named after the red headed cartoon character.
Spent quite a while trying it out and learning heaps from the mate I bought it from on electric and what I was doing that just sounded bleh.
Hey Tony!
Already commented in your NGD thread but gotta say … that’s a beautiful ES 335 clone! Congratulations!!!
Tod
Sorry for my english not being so good. “Bleh” sounds like you didn’t like how you sounded? But then, did you see the guitar sounded nice in you friend’s hands? And I hope that it handled well, so you are optimistic you get good tones out of it after spending time with it?
Anyway, such a pretty guitar!
bleh was a term to describe how badly I sounded playing electric.
I’m much more confident I’ll get better sounds out of it. With my acoustic fingerstyle, played without thumb or finger picks, I have to often really dig in to get good sound. That’s the opposite of what you want to do with electric. Because of the amplification, less is more on electric. And lots more muting, palm and such.
@domi7 if you can Id love to have you as a Classmate ![]()
Oh I see. I am pretty much the same!
Just that a long time ago, I put heavier strings on my electric - 11s - and it felt better for me this way and also I used it when I wanted to practice quitely (without amp) quite often, so I probably got better aquainted to it, while very rarely playing it wiith an amp.
This could be a possibility for you too in case the guitar comes with 8s or 9s. But well, Justin recommends not using heavier than 10s when starting to practice bending.
haha, thank you! ![]()
Haha, thanks a lot for thinking of me, Richard, I’ll send you a message very soon!
Thats really nice. Congrats ![]()
Really Nice guitar mate love it cheers HEC
@domi7 Hi mate, are you going for it again, Dominique?
Hey Hec, I will reply in a private message. ![]()
Great guitars, just make sure it set upon, I guess you will know what to check as I see you have been playing 15 years , I think.
Would be good for BLIM, 335 type are also very versatile for other styles.
Looking forward cohering you play it.
Set upon!
Eeesh.
Not by rabid wild dogs or randomly passing attack kangaroos I hope!
