Well, nothing official, but my husband has been calling us the Low Power Trio. Unfortunately, the name is already taken. So now Carl is suggesting The Lower Power Trio or the No Power Trio.
As for at AVoYP, we’re so spread out around his power tools, I’m not sure how to set up the camera!
I get so much encouragement from reading posts like this! It’s great to know that others struggle with peaks and valleys of motivation. Thank you so much!
Well, sad to say, no progress at all on Grade 3. If it wasn’t for the weekly jam session after “Bar Tuesday”, I haven’t been practicing at all. As I told my doctor last year, I seem to have lost my mojo for guitar and most other things. No motivation at all. (My energy has returned though, so I seem to be coming out of my funk, fingers crossed.)
And apparently, I may not have checked in with the Community since last October!
However, my 2 bandmates (what a weird thing to say!) have now checked in with the owner of the Bar, and they have agreed we will play there later this month for free. And last night, our drummer also said, we should do it for at least 3 weeks in a row as moving his drum set back and forth from his garage is a little bit cumbersome. So, I really need to get my butt into gear. We aren’t half bad at what we do play and last night practiced Johnny Cash’s version of Hurt for the first time without sounding awful. I really need to brush up on my F chord, it’s getting ragged.
Perhaps, I ought to go strum a few songs, right now, in fact…
Still struggling with motivation, but I’m working on it. Trying to play 20 minutes after every time I walk my dogs which is a minimum of twice a day. (40 minutes today!)
In the last week I’ve managed to practice a bit every day. I even started learning a couple new songs: Sheryl Crow’s If it Makes you Happy, and then for a real crowd pleaser, Mony, Mony by Tommy James. Only started messing with that one yesterday.
Theoretically, my little trio are still going to play at the local bar soon, once we get our, um, stuff together.
