Today , my body would not let me play
One of my treatment has been stopped so the pain in my face is back
I have to avoid moving too much or talking and this morning I went to the supermarket … my body did not like it one bit !
I have to wait at least a year before starting a new treatment …
So I just watched the video : module 19 : 3 Types of Songs You Should Practice
My case is a bit unique so I do not feel concerned by Justin 's practice method
especially the campfire song part
I have NO social life , I cant go out of my house … Nobody will ever ask me to play something
I do not need a repertoire
and I do not sing so if I play something basic most people would never recognise the song
I can sing , I ve even been told I sing pretty well but this is not what Im looking for in my guitar journey
I want to let the guitar speak , thats the kind of playing Im looking for
So I made my own method , one that fits my needs
Repertoire :
If by some kind miracle im asked to play something someday , 1 or 2 songs will be enough
so I am looking for songs like Wonderful tonight , its easily recognisable without singing
Whats great about the Blues is that I can also just play a little melody or a little solo like Need your love so bad
but its not a basic level so I need to improve my playing skills
projects :
I have 2 or 3 projects every year
1 or 2 intermediate projects , something like a solo or a riff or a song for Christmas
its usually a song that will let me practice a skill Im learning
Since I did BLIM the past 6 months , my intermediate project at the moment let me practice the Blues
a year long project , a song that fits in Justin’s " grower song " category
I must learn things out of this project but yet keep it fun
Dreamer song :
I am a Queen and Fleetwood mac fan so I still feel not ready to play many of my dreamers songs
but Wonderful tonight was a surprise , I never thought Id be able to play the live version so Im on the right track
that was the first time I felt like I was playing a Dreamer song so I now know that its not an impossible task
My next one year project is a dreamer song ! One that I ve always wanted to learn
Time will tell if Im up to the task

Now that BLIM is over I should probably pay for the app again
its great strumming practice and a fun moment
Im not practicing a skill when I m playing on the app , its just for the sheer fun of playing a song

If you don’t / can’t sing you could try some instrumentals like the shadows, I found some free backing tracks on the web and can play some tunes like Apache, wonderful land, and dance on there are lots of people doing lessons on the web for these tunes, sounds a bit strange without the backing tracks though and the backing tracks really help the get the timing right

I also played a bit Need your love so bad ( solo ) by Fleetwood Mac ans transcribed another version of the solo

I was coming back home after throwing the garbage away this evening when I saw one my my neighbour’s dog walking alone in the street
It was not normal since this dog is always on a leash when it goes for a walk so I took her in my arm and brought her back home
Looks like she escaped and her owner did not notice it
she was glad to have her little dog back
I think the CAGED system is slowly but surely starting to make sense to me (it’s taken a while!). I need to spend time rehearsing the shapes until I know them inside out.

its fun to see how you can play the same thing in so many different ways
