First song from the Covered Market was Monday Monday
The last two songs from my set at Oxford’s ( icy cold) Covered Market 21st November.
I really enjoyed doing a 9 song set for the very first time last night
I’ve been getting to grips with playing standing up again, because it so helps the energy for playing in front of people in a public space. I still find the angles and weights and pretty tricky, but will persevere.
Well played and sung, Ruaridh (as always
). You nailed “You got it” in my ears, great rendition of a favourite of mine! And what an amazing location (besides the temperature) for playing live. I visited Oxford once for a kind of job interview and spent some time checking the town. I especially enjoyed the market (and some pubs
).
Great. I loved the second song a lot. Both of them you did well, of course. Good job engaging the audience while playing also. That’s performing ![]()
Excellent job

Thanks @Lisa_S @Ontime @sairfingers @roger_holland
I’m itching to do more, and really get in the zone with it, soI’ll need to memorize some more songs quick…
@Lisa_S I too came here once for an interview, at the tender age of 17…. Turned out to be quite fateful !
Bravo Ruaridh.
Covered but not heated … those festive markets surely do freeze the finger tips!
A 9-song set is some achievement.
Bravo.

Great job Ruaridh,
I find it really hard to play in the cold, but you nailed it!
That is great both to read and especially to listen to! That must feel like a great milestone to have a long set list of songs played in front of a public for the first time!
Bravo!
Thanks @Richard_close2u @mathsjunky and @Silvia80 !
It’s been really useful meeting the other performers too, getting ideas and tips. and not least info on other places on the OM scene to play. There’s loads of them, all with different atmospheres
that’s the magic of Music: bringing people together!
Great job on your set. I really enjoyed A Long Black Veil. And this was also a good reminder that had been on my list as well and need to go learn it now. Thanks for that!
