My April Blues

Hi Everyone,
I missed my March allowances for uploads, so here I am with a fresh original recording (if any form of blues can be called ‘original’). I recorded it yesterday, so on April 1st, but it certainly isn’t meant to be a joke
The key is C major, with a fairly common chord progression comprising C9, F9 and G9, with G13 thrown in at some points.
Guitar: Les Paul
Amp/cab modelling, drum machine, all effects and audio interface: Boss GX-1
Software: Audacity
I hope you’ll like it, even though my recording cannot compete with some seasoned blues players here.

If it sounds good, it is good. (I didn’t know there was a competition going on…)

And don’t you worry, it sounds good! Therefore, it is good.

@Blobbyblob @GrytPipe @twistor59 @frito - thank you so much for listening and the kind words, much appreciated. Blues is never boring; I always return to it after a period of ‘composing’ my own stuff, treating it as a kind of refreshment. I really enjoyed playing and editing this particular sample.

Tomasz

Very bluesy and lots of interesting phrasing with some good dynamic variation too. You’ve got me diggin’ them blues!

Brian

Tasty, Man!!!

My only criticism is that it is WAY TOO SHORT!!

I feel like I only got one bite of my favorite dessert & then it was gone!!!
This may just be my favorite of all the recordings you’ve posted, Tomasz!
I Loved it!!!

Acoustic Blues are your Calling!

@beejay56 @CATMAN62 Thank you very, very much, guys. Your comments are truly encouraging.

Brian - it’s the best compliment I could possibly get, and I’m truly grateful for this comment, as the phrasing has not always been the strongest point in my playing, as I have a tendency to play too much and neglect making clear musical statements (it has been pointed out to me more than once :face_with_hand_over_mouth: ).

Tod - actually I could go on playing much longer… but it would make the whole piece rather boring since I’d be forced to repeat some licks and phrases. Anyway, I’m not only glad you liked it, I feel truly honoured by your opinion.

I like a good slow blues Tomasz. That is a good slow blues.

Fantastic Tomasz. Someday i’ll be able to play the blues like that (maybe).

@simon_plays_bass @C_McG : Simon, Colin - Thanks so much, Friends! Your opinions mean a lot to me; I’m so glad some guys here enjoyed listening to my blues, since I really enjoyed playing and recording it. Blues is never boring…

That was very tasty Thomasz!

The backing track is all mine (never use copied/borrowed BTs); the drum machine rhythm is ‘Shuffle’ from the Boss GX-1.

Molly - thanks so much for listening and your kind comment!
