As part of tidying the topics for the new Solo Blues course, I am moving chit chat comments from various topics in here.

Hi Mathieu, @math07
I hope we don’t get reprimanded for “chit chat” in a lesson-specific topic
, ( We’ll probably get away with it because this is just extra good attention/promotion
) but no, you are not the only one, in fact, you were the first with James that I thought of when I started my computer, as you can read elsewhere ![]()
I’m going to start " Target 3rd Blues" as soon as I finish reading here ![]()
Have fun you all ![]()
So the link just takes you to the new course advert ? Was actually expecting to see a preview of this actual lesson, as the “View the full lesson at” suggests.
Is there a problem with the link or do you have to buy up front to see it ?
@FannyJustinGuitar
Just seen there are multiple posts like this one, with titles very similar to the old Solo Blues Course I bought years ago.
Maybe just one thread on the new course is needed, to avoid this looking like clickbait?
Morning Rogier @roger_holland I saw it pop up last night and thought the community should wake Rogier up as it will be like Christmas coming early for him
Unfortunately the payment options were not working for me last night and by the morning I had talked myself out of the course. The @TheMadman_tobyjenner will be impressed that I was able to show some CAS restraint
It’s a shame that it took so long for the course to be released as Mari was telling me that she was so looking forward to the course. Anyhow, enjoy the course and look forward to seeing some fresh AVoYPs from you.

Still shaking while typing …
Aaa yes Mari, my biggest blues fan who has regularly urged/hinted at me for a blues LL …and I sayed “yes soon” 4 years ago
…It’s nice to think of her now too.

Thanks for the laugh ,

The email said that the arrangements in this are basically the same as the solo blues guitar course. I’ve already been working my way through this and loving it, so fun! ![]()
I was wondering if there are plans to eventually add brand new arrangements to the match my sound?
Is there distinct advantage to the MatchMySound course aside from the instant feedback?
I have tried it out with the two free arrangements.
I’m considering purchasing the MatchMySound, it does seem pretty cool, but even discounted, $99 USD is still a decent amount for me, even though I know it’s great value for money - especially for lifetime access.
Can anybody offer any advice or pearls of wisdom please? (Aside from ‘just buy it - you know you want to…’)
thank you ![]()
Click on the See Inside button and it takes you to the first lesson. It a remake of the old DVD lessons with more lessons with the Match My Sound software.
It the same Lesson Justin posted about 6 months ago. I guess he finished the course.
@Richard_close2u you may want to clean up all the Chit Chat on these new lesson treads.
Very excited about this. Instant buy. ![]()
Hi Jasmine @Avalon426
It’s great that you also enjoy it so much ![]()
As far as I know yes, I clicked on some random lessons and saw the “play” button working so it will work the same as the first three…can not give you more details I don`t use that function myself as I always match my sound with the Justin figure in the picture ![]()
and only hear the first lesson I am on many many times first eyes away from the screen ,and I only checked once on the video whether I needed to be more horizontal on the guitar neck or vertical for some tricks/licks .
I hope this helps you . and otherwise I hope that someone who goes faster than me will help ![]()
I now have the first few bars in my head and fingers and that is fun ![]()
Have a great weekend

Greetings ![]()
Edit: maybe interesting to add … when I read $ 99, I just think 99 euros, but just watchhed my bank and see that for us euro users it is 87.17 euros (current rate 10-24-2025)
Greetings
Well, Hi Guy,s you just know I love the blues, so here I am, cheers HEC
Thank you for responding Rogier! ![]()
I really do love the solo blues guitar course
I’m just about through it and have got them mostly with the slow or medium playalongs, but not happy with them when I try to speed them up. Except for the Steady Thumb Blues and the Boom Bass with Licks which I did use MatchMySound with. So maybe it will help me
It would be really fun to play with anyway by the sounds of what you’ve described
So I’m kind of thinking - Yas! Just buy it! ![]()
With the exchange rate it would work out to be roughly $155 Australian dollars
Hello Jasmine,
I understand your struggle with the exchange rate — CAD to USD is about the same as in Australia.
Here is what I had in mind when I purchased the course …
I had the old DVD set for a while but never really felt motivated to make much progress with it. I find the new videos more engaging. The older ones had a lot of talking (sometimes an hour per song) and the visuals were quite blurry. The new videos, on the other hand, are more concise, have clearer visuals, and use a better learning approach. Of course, if you’ve already gone through all the songs from the old course, that might not be such an advantage for you as you already know most of the songs.
I think there are a few new songs too, like Hooker Vibe, Target 3rd Blues, and the two primers for the more advanced pieces. I watched the first 13 minutes of Hooker Vibe last night and learned two cool tricks — one about muting during a shuffle and another about strumming with a single finger. I’d never seen those small details mentioned in other videos, so that was interesting.
Another addition is the improvisation lessons for each song, which could be useful. I found that improvisation wasn’t very clearly explained in the older course, so these new lessons might make it easier to understand.
That said, take my opinion with a grain of salt — I haven’t watched a lot of the content yet and I’m usually a big buyer of Justin’s course
. I might do a bit of CAS (Course Acquisition Syndrom) ahaha @Socio
— but hey, I’ve never made a bad purchase on this site! And if it’s anything like the Blues Lead in BLIM, then yes, some material overlaps with older videos on the site, but the teaching approach has really improved over the past 10 years. That’s why I decided to go with the latest version — I want to learn from the best version of the material.
As for MatchMySound, I’m not a huge fan yet, I still prefer Guitar Pro, but Justin seems to emphasize rhythm accuracy a lot in the Hooker Vibe video. I can see how focusing on precise timing could be helpful — especially for improvisation. If your rhythm isn’t tight, it might be hard to improvise.
Are these courses a replacement of BLIM or an addition?
Would have been good to have some sort of announcement about these on the main JG website.
Jasmine @Avalon426 I think Mathieu’s point to be right…we all grow and learn, Justin included. To that you add new technology…so I expect a real good improvement on the new course.
Haha, like a few of you, wanted to buy it yesterday when it came up, but payment wasn’t working.
I loved that Series so much (“steady thumb blues” and the other two lessons…)
that after watching Justin’s video I knew this will be just perfectly right for me!
I see it as an early christmas present to myself.
