It’s three months ago already that I bought this Yamaha APX700II.
For three months now it has been the guitar I have picked up most often. It’s just so nice and comfortable to play. I really, really like the neck for example.

Happy past NGD, Nicole!
What a beauty! Even better it feels comfortable and plays nice - that’s most important as it keeps you playing.
By the way, I’m glad to hear/read from you, it’s been a while. I hope you and your husband are well.
Happy NGD, Nicole! Beautiful guitar, I hope you’ve lots of fun together. I hope you and your husband are well. It’s been quite a while! Happy to read, that you are still playing. Greetings !
The most important feature of any guitar… Congrats on your purchase; I’m sure the APX will serve you well. I remember trying one at a music store; it sounded great unplugged, but was even more impressive when plugged to a good acoustic amp. I could go onstage with it anytime.
Wasn’t it so that the APX were in fact primarily meant to be stage guitars for people who usually don’t play acoustic? I have no stage ambitions whatsoever
I play the guitar primarily unplugged, partially because I am lazy, partially because my amp is not great, and partially because my in person guitar teacher had insisted that even my small APX sounds better unplugged than plugged.
…and the teacher is always right! No matter how you play it, I’m sure it sounds great.
Very nice Guitar Nicole, its a little bit like mine have fun cheers Hec
Beautiful guitar. Happy NGD…almost!
Nice! I have an acoustic in the same colour too.
I also like thinner guitars like this one, but there aren’t so many around!
If the comfort and great sound makes you pick up your guitar more often, all the better!
Thank you so much @Helen0609 and @Lisa_S . Yes, we are both fine.
@coda I thought, the customer is always right?
@domi7 True, there aren’t so many other thinner acoustics… It’s some kind of niche market apparently.
@Boris1565 and @DeltaTyne Thanks It’s difficult to take a good picture of the guitar, in reality the colour scheme is more subtle and less orangy.
Very nice.
My acoustic is small and comfortable too (not as thin as the APX though). I mostly play mine unplugged but it’s definitely a bit fuller when plugged into my little Yamaha acoustic amp if I want to play over a backing track
Hey you again
Happy NG3Months
I wish you a lot of time together and that we see a lot of it
Greetings From Holland
Congratulations Nicole!!!
New guitars are a great reason to smile!!!
Now, I am wondering when you’ll be putting the leash on it & taking it for a walk in your home town like your other guitar got to do!!!
Have fun!!!
Tod
Cool! Beautiful Guitar I will definitely have to check the Yamaha APX700II. My beginner guitar is a Martin XE. The neck is playable, but already had to have the neck re-aligned. Ugh.My humidors are set at 40 — at all the times now in my guitar room.
Hmm… I don’t know about humidity issues, I have never really done any research on them and just trust that everything will be fine I like the APX’s neck so much since it feels a bit like the neck of an electric guitar and since it has such a smooth finish, satin I suppose. Does not feel plasticky … Welcome to the community btw
@CATMAN62 I know, it has already been more than two years, but wouldn’t it be boring to have another guitar hometown walk picture series?
Nice guitar Nicole I have often fancied on of those myself but I got a fairly inexpensive Ovation Elite copy that’s OK, the APX was rather more expensive
Nicole, better late than never.
Not sure if that’s my reply or your post ! End of the day sweet looking geetar.
Just enjoy, what else is there ?
Happy BLTNNGD !!
That is a good looking guitar and Yamaha do have a good rep. Enjoy your time together.
They do. I had also tested two , but they just or three entry model or three Taylors didn’t do it for me. They only Taylors I really liked were two or three times the price of the Yamaha… So, no go. No way that I could justify that kind of expense.
@DarrellW I think they had only Ovation classical guitars in the shop (I might be wrong…). I’m sure your Ovation sounds very, very beautiful when you play it.
Happy NGD Nicole. Enjoy.
