Good fun as always, and thanks to everyone who took part, in whatever capacity ![]()
Nice to see a steady influx of BLIMMERS in recent OMs, but do not be put off all you first-timers. Good players get just as nervous as beginners and I’ve yet to see anyone regret taking part.
If you’re thinking of giving it a go, now is the time!
Good fun. Thanks for posting the recording David.
I noticed there was some kind of interference in my second song causing the audio to come at a lower volume every now and then. I wonder if it was Zoom or my equipment. I couldn’t hear it in my headphones.
Anyway, keep it up everyone, and don’t be afraid to perform if you haven’t done it before.
Lisa,
Thanks for your note. I played again this morning at the airport while waiting for my return flight to Seattle. It was a quiet lobby, but a few folks stop to listen and I brought some smiles to faces. Worth more than tips ![]()
Sounds like fun and very satisfying. I’m pretty sure all airports could do with a little more joy and music and brightening up

Thanks Richard. typically kind and generous of you to say so. This morning I shall just appreciate being appreciated.
And if it were a fight I can imagine a few cntenders, Brian
Which is what makes this Community great
I cab’t say for sure Erion. The elements in the system that can cause this make it hard to pin-point.
I apologise, perhaps I could have caught some of the drops and hand-levelled a boost in those moments.
Sorry I missed it guys. I got double booked and had to work crazy hours. Thanks for recording and sharing the event.
@DavidP there’s nothing to apologise for. This gave me a clearer picture of how I really sounded. I’ll try lowering the volume of everything next time just in case the microphone causes clipping and Zoom adjusts the volume automatically to avoid it.
Thanks again for editing the video and making it available for everyone.
Of course this is even better! Sharing the joy and love for music is one of the most rewarding things in life. Great, you did it again, Kevin! ![]()
Lisa and Jasmine, thanks for your support and encouragement. Yes! Airports are a great place to share music. The first time I did that was in Montreal a few years ago. You don’t need much of a repertoire - people are on the move. And if you wrap yourself around the idea that it’s just another practice session on your own, the fear melts away and you may be treated to nods and smiles that let your heart sing.
Thanks to all for sharing this community.
Just listened to the recording… great stuff…and as always a very varied selection of song genres. Well done to all the performers and of course to all the back stage staff!

Guys - thanks for making this event always great.
To Richard for organising; to Ashu for being a great MC and to Brian and David for being there to lend a helping hand (and as greet performers as well of course).
Cool Event!
Enjoyed watching you all play ![]()
Hope I’ll be able to join the next one as a performer, but can’t find the info on it, and the deadlines for approval
@Groove_R It will be posted up here soon Roman, keep an eye out.
Well, goody-goody.
We had it all.
Emotional ballads, upbeat rocking blues, flurries of jazz notes, airport serenading, power chord madness and cool vibes.
I won’t name check everyone. Just say bravo to one and all who performed and gave the entertainment.

Just could watch the recording now!
Enjoyed all your performances and a really nice host! ![]()
Hope I’ll make it back to one of the upcoming open mics to be with you up there again!
Great work everyone. Most enjoyable as always.
Thank you @Alan_1970 for reminding me of The Jam loved some of their work and its slipped under my radar over the years.
Ladies and Gentlemen.
My humble and sincere apologies. I totally missed out on two very important announcements. I simply took my eye off the ball.
At OM36 our wonderful MR @DavidP reached the 20 performances milestone.
And, just as important as a regular clocking up a significant number, perhaps more important because we always want fresh talent and new faces to emerge, we had a debut performer.
Alan @Alan_1970 I am so sorry that I overlooked the fact that this was your first Open Mic up on the stage. Perhaps you’re glad that it went under the radar and no extra pressure was added on. Regardless, you made a great debut and I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing you a return with more great songs.
Thank you Richard, I appreciate your kind words. It was a fun experience to be involved albeit slightly frightening as well. A lovely audience to perform for, great fellow performers, and super support team. I hope to come back for more.
Best wishes,
Alan
Thanks Richard, and no need to apologise on my account. Quite happy to have the spotlight on others, especially Alan on this occasion.
