Richard, I’ve been on a number of forums where new users need a certain number of posts before they can add a link. Some also include posting an image in that limitation. I assume Discourse would have that restriction available so if it gets to be a regular problem you might want to consider that option.

Here’s an example of one that landed today - flagged by the system …
They are so banned.
But bots return in new guises so remain vigilant please.

While I don’t think he should be advertising on another teachers platform, I have an Adam Levine course. It’s a good course.
David, we 're keeping on deleting and blocking and he, or whatever bot is behind it doesn’t matter much, keeps on creating new accounts to aggresively advertise his courses. This is profoundly wrong and unfair.
Sounds like you’re having a game of whack-a-mole. Just looked up online to see who this Adam is as he’s obviously nothing to do with a certain band, he should change the name of his website from adamlovesguitar to adamlovestospam as that seems more appropriate. Though, it could be someone trying to get folk to click dubious links pretending to be him.
This seems more likely to me.
He doesn’t describe his course as a “miracle” on his website. Miracle is click bait!

Just a thought, put in check human on account creation, and email confirmation to set up new accounts. If you have not already done so that is.
I’d say this would be a better option
That may also encourage folk that join for the sake of posting recording to engage more with the community.

There used to be a 5 post minimum before posting links in AVOYP and posting only in AVOYP was frowned upon but those policy seems to have faded away.

There used to be a day we actively encouraged folk to post in AVoYP, these days it seems to be the opposite.

maybe because nowadays people are used to seeing and making videos on social medias
Yes and the way to stop that is not to comment or like AVoYPs from first time posters and/or people who only post AVoYPs and don’t engage in any other way.
Or is that being non-inclusive and unwelcoming? Where do you draw the line?

I agree with Paul, first time posters give a fair chance as they could turn out to be great contributors to the community.
A wise man (Brian L) once said that you get out of the community what you put into it. I’d draw the line on how active they are outside of their own AVoYPs and OM.
