If I get a subscription for the app, will I be able to use the songs from the app on the practice section of the website?
Not sure I understand your question correctly, but the app and the lesson website are not linked. So if you want to practice songs in the app, you will have to it in the app.
So, if I understand you correctly, I can’t move a song from the app to my practice routine on the website.
No, the app is a third party app not connected to the website. But if the song is on the website you can add the lesson to your practice routine. Most if not all song on the app have lessons on the website and there’s song on the web site that aren’t on the app.
Has something to do with Copyrights.
Thanks to both of you for your help. One more question, is there anywhere on the web I can find the play alongs that are used for the 10 min song practice. I really like those to practice with.
Do you mean the 10 min practice of some 3 songs at the end of the practice routine? Those are of course on the JG website, which is on the web?
That’s exactly what I’m looking for. Is there a place on the website to find more practice songs that can be added to a practice routine on the My Practice Assistant?
There are no other ready made play along song practices on the website aside from those provided in the practice routines.
There are song lessons, but not with a play along feature. You could search for songs with the chords you want to practise and for the level you are at in the songs section, note down the chords and play along to the original song. You could make a practice item with a link to e.g. YouTube for the original song, but it won’t show you the chords to play and it won’t give you the video embedded in the practice routine, just a link that would take you to YouTube. So that’s not really what you’re looking for.
Thanks for the help.
I bought the app with the annual subscription and only a couple of the songs from the first two beginner courses are even in the app. Quite disappointing.
I understand your disappointment. Unfortunately, copyright issues force regular changes to the list of songs available through the app. However, there’s no reason why you should limit yourself to the song suggestions in the lessons. Search for other level appropriate songs and a whole new world will open up!
Hi Gator,
Please understand that the app and lessons can not be aligned and it would be a hard exercise to try so. This is, as @LadyOfTheCastle pointed out, due to copyright and legal issues.
See it as a complement of each other with overlap where legally and practically possible
