Question about The Big Survey

To increase profits.

No , its a selling tactic to attract new customers / clients

it has nothing to do with profits

By emailing to existing customers?:laughing::laughing::laughing:

What I meant was that not offering the discount to existing clients is motivated by keeping profits up. Also, getting new clients is part of increasing profits.

That said, I don’t think that maximising profit is Justin Guitar’s main objective, Justin seems genuinely motivated by teaching people to play music. (Of course, he’s also running a business.)

In any case, giving new clients, but not existing ones, a discount is a standard marketing ploy used to increase profits.

Yeah, this is a hiccup on the part of the marketing folks, I suppose.

I have several people around me who sometimes say that they want to learn the guitar … yes, now I’m really going to start  … and that’s why I’ve already sent an offer email a few times to people who don’t have that much money to spend, so it’s quite handy that I get to see it. Several children have also signed up for the app when I send them a mail when i heard them talk about wanting to lern to play (but I don’t think they have continued after the trial period so far,( unfortunately … for them)

I am happy and grateful for what has been done here :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: and they continues to try to make things even better here :exploding_head:…although I indicated that I do not think it is necessary at all, as far as I am concerned, Justininguitar has achieved perfection…unfortunately I read that this does not apply to everyone

and remember that no one at all here will be

Greetings and have fun all :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Hi @larynejg Laryne!

Thanks for an ‘Official’ response to this thread! Good to hear that all the responses are being received & reviewed!!!

It seems to me after reading a few of the responses above about the point I was trying to make that is that I don’t ever want songs removed from the app. This isn’t my gripe.
Let me explain———

Here’s a scenario I envision…

Someone decides to learn guitar. They’re browsing the internet for online help and/or instruction along with some inspiration.
He/she clicks on Justin’s video to learn how to play “Ain’t No Sunshine”.

https://www.justinguitar.com/songs/bill-withers-ain-t-no-sunshine-chords-tabs-guitar-lesson-bs-292

Justin plays along with the midi version on the app. The aspiring guitarist digs the guitar karaoke aspect of the lesson & signs up for the app 7 day trial period. Then, he/she finds out that the song that sparked interest in Justin’s app isn’t actually available. This person doesn’t know that songs are in rotation or become unavailable because of licensing restrictions or whatever. They only know that this feels like a “Bait & Switch” tactic by this guy that they were turning to for help… might even be worried that it’s a scam & their payment method is in jeopardy!
Because of this, this person goes elsewhere to learn, Justin loses a student (& the positive word-of-mouth referrals that a satisfied customer can provide), and possibly the budding guitarist gives up on guitar down the line.

So, my suggestion is to do whatever it takes to keep the songs that are “plugging the app” in a YouTube song lesson on the app OR re-shoot the lesson after that song has disappeared from the app OR take down the video lesson.
By the way, this isn’t the only song that I have encountered that disappeared from the app that Justin included in his YouTube video lesson.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Justin’s teaching methodology, his spirit of giving & I know for a fact that several people I’ve talked to about guitar are learning with Justin now. One of them is my grandson!

Thank you for listening!!!
