My Daughter and I went for a little hike today and I took this.

It happens to be my birthday and one of my buddys sent me a birthday :call_me_hand:t2: and asking me what I was doing or if I was having a little soirée

So I sent him this photo, being proud of my recovery from my last injury. Said went for a great hike in the desert with my kid. Of course he asked if we climbed it. (I used to be a big rock climber).

I replied,
“oh no,I am not climbing again in the near future.”
Its true I am thinking of selling my rack and all my gear.

This was his response.

Checking my external drive I found an almost forgotten folder with scans of my B&W negatives. I picked one of them, and after quick processing am presenting it here:

The photo was taken in June, 2012, so 13 years ago.

Hi Tomasz, thought I would share this photo with you as I can see you are interested in planes, I am not that interested but in my army days I helped train RAF fighter pilots on their escape and invasion course. I was gifted with a weekend down at RAF Church Fenton a training school for pilots I had one day of training then a flight in the aircraft shown in the photo. The officer flew down the south of England for about an hour we did low-level Flying and on the way back home he let me take control, wow man what a feeling 300 miles an hour, I loved it, but he wouldn’t let me try and land it don’t know why he he, that was one of my greatest days cheers HEC

Taken a few years back whilst waiting for my train to Oxford. Who’s that cheeky little blue engine?

Thanks for sharing your story with that flight! I’m sure it was great! And probably you’re aware that landing is the most difficult of the tasks!
Once I joined a class of flying sailplanes and then, I was quite nervous on my first flight alone, because there was no teacher anymore inside with me, nor was there an engine, so no touch-and-go possible  you HAD to get the landing right.

Exactly.

Apparently it’s called “Real Time” and is by Dutch artist Maarten Baas.

Only a Baas would stick a man in a clock and make him work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week…
