Request "Punk" in Genre filter on Songs page

Hi, the Song page is fantastic. A nice addition would be to add “Punk” as a choice in the “Genre” filter. I know Justin has done lessons on songs by Green Day, The Ramones and The Sex Pistols, probably other punk bands, as well. It would be great to be able to select them all together.

Maybe it will need three labels

Real Punk
Modern Punk
Pretend Punk

That will differentiate the post 1980 pretenders who don’t quite match up to the 77-80 brigade. There’s Punk and there’s Pseudo Punk. Please label correctly.

I personally go for the early stuff, especially the Ramones and the Clash. Although, I do also like some Green Day stuff quite a bit.

Maybe Punk Rock and Pop Punk?
Kinda splits it nicely into the more gritty early stuff vs the Skate park punk off late 90s and beyond.

FWIW - I like both but agree they are separate styles of music

You could just enter a 2 or 3 in the “Number of Chords” field
