"Shadow of the Horns" - Darkthrone

Check this out! I love playing something that isn’t a minor or major scale. Something to spice up the journey. Heavy as an anvil… :zany_face:Shadow Of The Horns - Darkthrone (Instagram)

Thanks a lot!

Heavy as an anvil is not something I generally look up but having been drawn to your post I listened and liked. Nice work Angelos.

Unholy! I’m not really a fan of Darkthrone or early black metal but I liked your playing. I’m only a beginner guitarist but I thought your timing was solid. The second half sounds more complicated to play.

After listening to your video, I decided to give A Blaze in the Northern Sky another listen (seeing as it is considered to be a classic, ground-breaking album) but it still doesn’t do it for me.

Haha! I listen to every kind of music. Sometimes an anvil, sometimes a cotton  Thanks a lot for your time and your reply. I wish you all the best :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks a lot! :slightly_smiling_face: All the song is just power chords and because i was fed up with minor and major songs I ve tried to play something different. Is a great album. I think that black metal is actually more like a statement rather than music. It’s like a art performance. It’s difficult to listen to it. I didn’t like Black metal in the past but is funny that in my 40’s i started to listen to it
I wish you a great journey with the guitar

It’s not humbuckers… but it can! Indeed. I saw once Varg Vikernes playing with a telecaster some black metal riffs and the sound was interesting.

Sounded suitably heavy and rocking, Angelos

Indeed David ,in October was the OP first post…but

2024 :joy:

Mistakes easily happen but this thread will be confusing and hard to read if someone wants to comment on the Mad World performance. I don’t know what the moderation tools are like on Discourse but If it’s not too much work, I’d recommend un-merging the threads. At the moment, all the Mad World-related posts are from a year ago so hopefully, it shouldn’t be too difficult.

I think @DavidP made a mistake here. I don’t know how it works exactly, but that’s ok! Whatever is best for the community. :upside_down_face:
