Wish you were here has chords and riffs. The same techniques are in a million other songs, literally a million. You can skip it.
As I understood it, this song was put into the course in Grade 2 in the module that introduces the open E minor pentatonic. If I understood correctly, the song uses a combination of single notes and chords and the single notes are all in that scale. So whether you like the song or not, it is a good exercise to see how the scale is used in a song. I think its one of the first examples of this in Justin’s course. I found it very challenging and still do. Luckily I like the song.
IN the course, Justin often suggests songs that are helpful to learn in a given module because it allows you to practice a certain technique. If I don’t like those songs, I look for some others. However, in the case of the E minor pentatonic, I wouldn’t know how to find other songs playing riffs in that scale.
