I think I’ll start a new post, Brian, EARLY PHOTOS WITH OUR GUITARS, that will bring a laugh
Oh yes, you remember this time
I had the concert programme and a T-shirt. Both now long gone.
I remember in the programme each band member had filled in a Q&A type thing and Paul Di’Anno’s replies included his favourite food was Big Mac.
This shows how things were back then and how long ago it was.
Nobody, I repeat, nobody that I knew had any idea what that was. I think I’m right in saying that in 1980 McDonalds had fewer than 100 outlets across the entire country - mostly in London. They certainly didn’t have one on Teesside and the phrase Big Mac had no meaning or significance at all. I remember it so clearly because it was a talking point for a while.
Ta-dah!
i love it ill have to dig one out later ha ha ha cheers HEC
I remember my first Big Mac! I was working in McDermott House Stadium Way, Wembley and I think Wembley had one of the first McD’s in the country. In those days if they served the food cold you got it free.
wow that is amazing man nothing changed there then I still get it cold, just don’t get the free anymore ha ha
Was that the all you can eat salad bar ?
I can’t remember my first because I’ve never had one!!
I’ve seen that face before, Richard …
I don’t think I’ve changed much since I started
Are we tempting fate here, posting images of ourselves in the death-watch thread?
Are we gonna get our fingers slapped by the mods?
I am just going to look for lesson number one to find Justins ?
Hi
I have been trying to get photos from the past for a long time, but they seem to be in someone’s attic in his parental home … 3 weeks ago I received these first from someone else (the year is unknown)
Not much has changed here either
Greetings,
I’ve only been at this 3 years. I don’t look much different…
This thread may prove to be very entertaining!!!
I’ll bet a lot of us old-timers are going to have a lot less wrinkles & a lot more hair!!!
This one’s not the oldest one ever taken bit its the oldest I can find… it was 2003 & that’s my grandson who is now 22, married & working at becoming an air traffic controller with the FAA (following in his grandpa’s footsteps)!!!
That blue Ibanez was my second guitar, the first one being a “Costco Special” Yamaha that my wife paid about $75 for in 1990 or so… and that I still play most days!!! It’s in my office at work.

I do hope this keeps on going It is absolutely brilliant and lots of fun, it takes the sting out of learning for a moment cheers to all who post, Hec
Thanks for that Brian brilliant man, cheers
Hey Brian,
How long ago was that video put together? Looks to be a decade or so to me!
Thanks for sharing that!!!
Tod
What a nice thread this one!
From the time when I shoot photos with a camera…a really bad quality one! I always had red eyes!
I want that black Ibanez back!! I eventually gave it to a friend because I felt really unable to learn to play! From the clothes I remember it was a New Year’s Eve party. We were singing and I was pretending to play. A friend could play and he played my guitar for us. He played the electric guitar and often he asked me to strum the Nothing Else Matters intro chords while he was playing the solo.
