I do hope your Grade 2 exams on Classical Guitar went well!
How is it going? Don’t you miss the steel string and all that goes with it like strumming and singing? Though I fingerpick and sing on my Classical guitar as well.
If I had to pick one it would be the Acoustic guitar for me…but it would be tremendously painful to give up the Classical guitar…
That’s the point I think, the truth is I consider myself more like “playing with Music” than actually “playing Music”…and she’s just an amazing playmate!

Guitarland always provides so many things I want to do that I forget I wanted to learn some - easy - classical piece and use my classical guitar more!
The other day I repaired a classical guitar for someone and put new strings on and comparing this one to mine I felt I got to get new strings too, the other one sounded much nicer while I know mine always sounded good too - so it’s probably those old strings making it sound a bit dull!

I agree the dull sound to be attributed to the old strings, I’m sure your guitar will show you some gratitude if you’ll put new fresh sounding ones on
As I wrote to Tod above that Waltz I mentioned above is not difficult at all, it may be challenging depending on each one skill and it surely was challenging for me but it also taught me a lot - I think the biggest lesson for me was that reaching the notes of the scale required to keep the hand and the fingers in a proper position, close to the fretboard and avoid the flying fingers. I saw you playing way more complicated things which inform me this would be achievable for you

I really enjoyed this, including the second recording with the rain. It has a very calming and melancholy feeling to it. I thought your facial expression when you finished playiing the first time fit the mood of the piece too.

The facial expression was genuine on this one as it’s not a technically difficult piece, though the 3rd section still feels a bit tricky.
There are a few techniques, like for example muting bass strings that would make it more toward the advancing beginner/intermediate level. I’m ignoring that technique for the moment because it feels too demanding. Though I enjoy making my attempts at the loud/quiet dynamics and phrasing.
