Songs For Module 2

Hi! I’m 16 and I recently started playing guitar (about two weeks ago). I’ve been begging my parents for one for a while, and they finally got me one for my birthday :sob:. I finished Module 1 three days ago, and after I managed to do 45 chord changes in a minute, I moved on to Module 2 (I actually finished it in one sitting). But I still can’t really get the hang of the song I was practicing, which is Blowin’ Smoke. Apparently, I’ve been trying to practice the original version of the song, and yeah… I suck at it lol. So my question is: should I keep practicing Blowin’ Smoke, or should I move on and practice a new song from Module 2?

my advice would be to keep on practicing module 1 first and try to play songs from this module
just follow the learning path made by Justin and dont rush it

I am curious as to why, despite Justin’s stressing the importance of practicing to backing tracks on his app, ALL of the song’s suggested in this Module 2 lesson (with the exception of Twist and Shout" are NOT on the app? Seems to send a contradictory message. I am assuming that there are copyright / royalities and legal issues which affect which songs are available on the app?

Yes there is. Justin pays royalties for the songs in his lessons so most are on the website but the app is a third party and Justin’s royalties don’t cover the app and like everything in this changing world copyrights are being sold or fought over and we the general public get screwed.

The good news is you can usually find backing tracks on Youtube but they won’t have the app bouncy ball look.

Hello Oopsitsomori. I think it would be wise if you continue to practice blowing smoke but also continue to learn another song . Of course this this is just me talking, perhaps you would rather not do this but this way you will still learn the song but not get bored because you are also doing another song.I hope this helps. Enjoy!!!

I was wondering the same thing!!!
