The D Minor Chord

According to the chord box in the lesson, your fingers are in correct positions. If you are not sure how to read chord boxes look into the corresponding lesson in Module 0.

what is making you doubt it?

My D minor uses fingers at a bit of an angle, especially on fingers 1 and 2. Doing that makes it feel like there is no stretch on finger 4.

I also think you may be pressing too hard because your fingertips look too white. Let up a bit and see if your strings are still pressed to the fret without buzzing. Maybe it was to hold the guitar while you took the picture?

you might rotate the wrist to a convenient angle, if you pay attention to Justins hand position and angle, there is a little rotation, here a screenshot from lesson video:

See just above with the picture from @witkatz

It is very much like my hand position and will help reduce the stress on your finger joints and add to how far you can reach.

I have been playing guitar since many years ago but still not at any kind of advanced level. I learn’t picking the Dminor chord using the 3rd finger instead of my fourth and unfortunately it is difficult to rewire my brain to use the 4th finger. When I am playing a song, my 3rd finger goes on its own.
Is there any particular way to overcome this? or simply practice makes perfect?

Don’t bother relearning the Dm chord, using your ring finger is in no way a problem. Justin recommended the pinky for first time beginners because its easier. Some people have problems use their ring finger.
