The G Chord... hacked!

Thank you PrincessOfTheCastle.

I can’t help, I think I’ll continue practicing, I mean, that’s a challenge, exciting :upside_down_face:

If you can answer that or someone else? :+1:

If your muting the B on the A string and fretting the D on the B string then it’s a G5, no 3rd in the chord to make it a G major.

What is the hacked version called?

I just told you.

I presume you mean the 2 finger version Justin teaches in module 6, with the muting of the A-string. I’m far from an expert in music theory, but I guess that’s still just a G. For the classic 3 finger G, the A string is fretted at the 2nd fret, making it a B. If you mute that string, just fretting the 1st and the 6th string, you still have a B in there, as the B-string is played open.

1st, 2nd and 6th string. Same shaped as the hacked (muting 5th string) but just adding the 3rd finger to fret that note on the B string. Without it, the sounds is bad, thin and out of tune. To me.

I’m afraid you didn’t . I don’t know much of music theory, but one chord shape has a different name than the other different chord shape, right?

He did, it’s G5
