Here’s my version of this beautiful movie soundtrack by Luiz Bonfa. It has been performed by many artists; nonetheless I took a challenge to create my version for two guitars in the key of Em.
Amp/cab modelling and all effects from Line6 POD Express.
Tomasz, I do not know the piece, though your version was enjoyed. Thank you for sharing.
The two guitars sound good together. Well done.
Oh man, that brings me back to the 60’s when I first heard this on a mono “LP” of Vince Guaraldi.
Just love your interpretation-- very well done!
Sounds lovely, fine playing and production, Tomasz
@Malz @mundeli @DavidP Thanks so much for listening and the kind words.
@mundeli - I’m glad my recording of this piece brought back nice memories to you, it means a lot to me when my music is a source of positive feelings for a listener. Thank you! ![]()
Never heard of the artist, but thought this was pretty good! Its different but in a good way! Keep on!

Thank you for listening, Byron, I do appreciate your comment. Actually the piece is part of the soundtrack from the movie Black Orpheus; the song itself has a different name in Portuguese. It has been performed by numerous artists, among others the three greats: Paco de Lucia, John McLaughlin, Al diMeola. I can see clearly it’s not very popular, or even known among this community ![]()
Interesting!! It’s a shame some musicians don’t get noticed. I thought it was pretty cool I’ll have to check them out
Beautiful
Thank you! Sometimes one word of comment is enough to make the author happy ![]()
I thought I had heard it before, it was during the time I was taking in some of Al DiMeola’s stuff - it’s a beautiful piece and you played it very well, I must find how the other two artists performed it now ![]()
Darrell - what I meant was that I had heard the trio performing this piece.
Thank you very much for listening and the kind words - really encouraging.
Hi Tomasz, I do hope you are feeling well and thanks again for a wonderful guitar piece. Cheers HEC
Hi Hec, yes, I’m feeling a bit better; so far done with that toxic chemo, awaiting surgery (some time in September). Thank you for the caring, for listening and you positive opinion on my recording.
You never disappoint Tomasz. So good, thanks for sharing.
Thank you, John, for listening and commenting. I’m really happy you liked it. Any opinion is important to me, but such one as yours is also very encouraging.
